Sex and the City

I have never watched the series before but I know a few girlfriends who worshiped it. I have always wondered why the worshipping until I watched the movie. Almost cried throughout the whole 2 hours!!! My god!

The movie (not sure bout the series) is about friendship, love and forgiveness (oh, not forgetting the sex of course). The friendship between Carrie (recently-married-successful-writer), Charlotte (the cute-innocent girl), Miranda (lawyer-turned-auntie) and the ever-horny Samantha Jones really touched my heart. Charlotte protecting a crying Carrie from Big after he jilted her on their wedding day. Carrie taking the trouble to reach Miranda's house during a cold new year's eve to be with her lonely friend. Samantha taking care of Carrie's stuff after the wedding is cancelled. Friends needed each other. Friends hang out for some girly talk. Friends support each other during lonely times. Friends going shopping together.

Apart from that, the franchise always boasts of designer fashion which I frequently find it hideous. As hideous as they look, I can't deny that they ARE classy. One thing I really envy is Carrie's wardrobe. It is almost as big as my room and filled with designers...Dior, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Channel, Jimmy Choo......arghhh. This is bad influence! Swallowing my temptation, I have to keep reminding myself I can't afford designers. Not even a Louis Vuitton. But the one thing that kept me motivated is that their luxuries are derived from their careers. Carrie the Writer, Miranda the Lawyer, Samantha the businesswoman, and Charlotte the most humble, works in an art gallery.
